Specialized OCD & Phobia Treatment for Children
OCD and phobias can take over a child’s daily life—and leave parents feeling helpless and unsure how to respond. I specialize in helping children overcome OCD, anxiety, and phobias using evidence-based treatment tailored specifically for them. From compulsions and reassurance-seeking to avoidance and intense fears, I help children learn that anxiety does not get to be in charge.
19 Years of Experience Helping Children Thrive
With 19 years of experience working with children and families, I understand that every child experiences anxiety differently. I have helped children with a wide range of personalities, temperaments, and symptom severity build confidence, develop coping skills, and make meaningful progress. My approach is individualized, developmentally informed, and designed to meet each child where they are.
Warm, Supportive, and Parent-Involved Care
Children make the greatest progress when parents feel supported too. My approach is warm, collaborative, and carefully paced so children feel encouraged—not overwhelmed. I work closely with parents to provide practical tools, guidance, and strategies that reduce anxiety’s hold on the family and help children build lasting confidence both at home and at school.

FAQ
What is Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) Therapy for OCD?Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for OCD. It is considered a gold-standard treatment for OCD and anxiety.If you struggle with obsessive thoughts, anxiety, or compulsions (like checking, washing, counting, or needing things to feel “just right”), ERP can help you take back control.ERP has two main parts:1. Exposure
This means slowly and safely facing the thoughts, images, objects, or situations that trigger your OCD. You are not forced into anything scary. We take small, planned steps together.2. Response Prevention
This means choosing not to do the compulsion or ritual that usually follows the anxiety. Instead of checking, washing, avoiding, or asking for reassurance, you practice letting the anxiety rise and fall on its own.How Does ERP Help?OCD grows when you avoid fear or do rituals to feel better. ERP teaches your brain a new lesson:* Anxiety goes down on its own.
* You can handle uncomfortable thoughts.
* You do not need rituals to be safe.Over time, your brain learns that the fear is not as dangerous as it feels.In ERP therapy for OCD, we will:* Set clear treatment goals
* Build a step-by-step plan
* Practice skills during sessions
* Practice between sessions with supportERP works for many types of OCD, including:* Contamination OCD
* Harm OCD
* Religious or scrupulosity OCD
* Relationship OCD
